What is VolleyNation?

Welcome to VolleyNation!

As the first of its kind in New Zealand, VolleyNation was designed to be fun, friendly and exciting for all competitors and spectators.

Volleyball alone is known to be a highly skilled, dynamic sport that has attracted many people to play and watch the game, being the 2nd most participated sport globally.

VolleyNation is a player focused event With 6 divisions from U14s, 16s, 18s, A Grade to Social and Elite divisions (see Game Protocol)

WHAT MAKES VOLLEYNATION DIFFERENT FROM OTHER TOURNAMENTS?

Based on a new time clock of 20min halves creates urgency to accumulate as many points as possible

GAME PROTOCOL

Clock countdown synced with venue clock

(Teams need to bring own volleyballs per for warm up purposes)

Game protocol - running clock

5mins individual team warm up

5mins combined teams net warm up

1min pre game time

20mins first half

2mins half time break; swap sides

20mins second half

1x 30secs time our per team per half; equates to max 4mins extra stoppages; can’t call a time out inside 3mins of each half

55mins total overall potential time

Clock start ??:49 for 11mins pregame protocol countdown

Substitutions can happen at any stage of the game.

Must be present inside 3m zone.

Divisions

12 Teams per division - 2 pools of 6 teams per division

GUARANTEED 5 MATCHES!

Minimum of 8 players per team: ~~$125 per player (except Elite - $150 per player)~~

* $400 per initial team of 8 players ($100 for every player over the initial 8)
